Writing your own content is a great way to earn money. Original, well written content will always be in demand and will help you rank higher in Google and of course drive traffic to whatever pages you want. Below I have assembled a list of ways to earn money by writing great content. After the list I go into more detail about each one so have fun and get out there and create great content and write for money.

Free Lance Writing - Elance and Odesk both will allow you to get paid for writing articles for them and others online who need great content. You can expect a few dollars per article and the experience writing is invaluable. If you have enough time to devote to it this can build over time to a great income. Get a page set up with your bio and some of your work so people will be more likely to hire you.
Publish an eBook- If you have extensive knowledge about a particular subject and a large enough audience you can write and publish an eBook and sell it across the web. You can get ideas for a book by visiting Amazon.com and see what topics are popular. Your audience will be hungry for valuable information so you must give them just that. Easy to find generic information will not help your readers and will hurt your reputation. For example if you know how to repair the brakes on a car well, write a book with detailed instructions about the tools you will needs and the cost savings of doing it yourself as well as videos to walk people through the whole process.
Google Adsense – You can set up a simple web page and or a blog and write content and then have related ads from Google show up on your pages automatically and Google will share the revenue from those ads with you. The more traffic you can drive to those pages the better chances you have of earning a lot of commissions from Google. You can have ad boxes or links in the text areas that grab attention and many earn a great living from Google.
Affiliate Website – If driving traffic is something you are good at or willing to learn, then affiliate marketing is a great way to use your content to write for money. You can set up a website easily and use services like ClickBank or Rapbank to post ads on your site and sell products and services. For best results try to sell items that are related to your page or post. If you write and article about taking care of your home then ads about home cleaning products or home maintenance products will do well. If your article is about repairing your car then ads with car accessories would be fitting. Keep your readers in mind when placing ads.
Sponsored Reviews – You can also write for money by posting reviews about products or services on your blog. Sites like SponsoredReviews.com will get you started. People who are introducing services or just want to get some buzz started would love for you to write a review about their service and or company.
Content Buyers- Places like Zerys.com help match up those that need content with great writers. You will be able to create a profile and write on subjects that interest you and that you are knowledgeable about. You can expect to earn somewhere in the 3 cents per word range so for a 1,000 word article you would get about $30. If you enjoy writing this can be a great side income. There is no cost to get started.
Keep it for Yourself & Blog- This is by far my favorite way to write for money. Why would you keep the content for yourself? Well if you have a blog or website that you host and own yourself, then you can publish all of your content on that site and become an expert in your field. Keep in mind that people search Google for information. If you provide quality information on the subject they are interested in then you build trust and they may also buy from you or through you in an affiliate program or MLM company if they are interested in earning money also. Build a great reputation and a great list of people you have dealt with and you have ready made buyers for products you introduce.

How to submit to Article Directories
So now you have a blog set up and you are ready to write and get some exposure online. What is next?
Well once you have a well written original article the next step would be to submit to article directories all over the web. This will give you the maximum exposure and help you build hundreds of links back your website or blog.
You can submit your articles to them manually or through a variety of directory submitting services.

ome of these will you require you do some of the work such as use software on your computer like SubmitEaze With this software you choose the next directory on the list and then choose keywords and categories and click submit. You will have to enter the captcha codes but it is still much better than hand submitting.
I use SpinRewriter and SpinDistribute. I like them beacuse they are web based so I can work from any computer and they help you spin the articles, which means to create various unique versions of them to prevent duplicate content, and then distribute your article around the web over a 10 day period.
Following you will see two lists. One (the first) lists directories by Alexa Rank which means these get the most traffic. The second lists by Google page rank which means the links are of high quality and Google will give you better rankings for having them. Building links by submitting articles is a slow steady process. You will not get tons of traffic tomorrow but the great thing about your articles being in article directories is that they stay there for a long time.

The more quality articles you can have on these directories the more credibility and traffic you will build up over time. imagine if you write 20 articles over a month or two and the create multiple versions of those by spinning them and THEN have them all over the web. You will have hundreds of websites with your content all linking back to your website.
Some of these you will get listed on with software and services but some may require you to submit manually. If they are high on either one of these lists it is well worth it to take the time to get your content listed.

Why all the buzz about article marketing and what can it do for you?
Article marketing is using content from your site and getting it out there on the web to promote yourself primarily and then to promote your site. I say to promote YOU first and then your site because great content makes YOU the expert. You become the go to person when readers have questions about your topic.
Article marketing should be one of your highest priorities in promoting your affiliate links or your primary business since it is very effective and free. You can write about the topics that interest you and are on subject with your blog or website.
Google the KING of search loves great original content and rewards you with high rankings. So when you post a great article on your site or blog it becomes valuable to Google searchers. To be effective at article marketing the articles should be helpful and provide solutions. Do not write an article that is try to sell something. Searchers do not want to be sold they want solutions. They want information, USEFUL information.
Of course your purpose in writing great content is to increase your ranking and ultimately to promote and sell, but your first priority should be helping people with great ideas, tips, and solutions. Build a relationship with readers first.
To help rank higher on Google use the Google keyword tool. Even you do not have an Adwords account you can use this tool to find great keywords. A great strategy is to find keyword with low competition but with a decent amount of searches a month. Then write your article around that keyword. I would suggest over 3,000 searches a month. Keep in mind that the top listing in a Google search get about 30% of the traffic so if a keyword gets 15,000 searches a month, then if you are in the number 1 spot you will get about 4500 visitors to your article. Of that you will probably get about 10% that will actually visit your links and capture pages and could become leads.
A great keyword density goal would be 3%. This means that your keyword or keyword phrase should be written once for every 33 words. Don’t try to make this exact just keep it in mind. Now I don’t mean just write useless information and load up the keyword in your text. This will not work and will make you look silly instead of an expert.
Now let’s say you have written a great article and you want to get the word out. You can use an article marketing service. These will save you a lot of time since you will not have to submit to each article directory individually. E-zine marketing services will also push your content to e-zine publishers and give them an opportunity to pick articles that their readers may like. Ezinearticles.com is a great authority site to have your original content listed on.
