Blog Posting for Profit
So you have seen the importance of a great Blog and how it can generate buzz but how do you make money with your Blog?
Your Blog has to to be generating traffic first so lets cover some strategies to get more traffic to your Blog and then what to do with the traffic comes next.
You can generate traffic in two main ways. There are some others that can help but most fall under two categories.
1. You can advertise your Blog. This way works well and you can use pay per click or par per impression ads on Google or in many other places online. You goal is to attract regular readers that are interested in your main theme so if your blog is about home business then you will need ads that attract people that want to start a home business. This can be done in Google but also can be done in a variety of E zines and even with ads on Home Business websites that get a lot of traffic.
If you have the budget this would be the fastest way to get traffic however you can sink a lot of money into online advertising with little or no return so make sure you can track the ads you run and always work on building your list of leads by having your visitors sign up for a newsletter or give them a free report or something of value to get them to join your mailing list. It is vital that you build your list. VITAL! No matter how you get people to your Blog your goal should bet that even if they do not join your opportunity or buy from you today that you can send them a promotion later. Having a good auto responder will send them messages automatically for you so you do not have to do everything manually. I use Aweber.
2. You can Build Links and your ranking in Google. This technique will build long term traffic that is free. Now I say free in the fact that you are not paying for clicks or impressions but it will take work and dedication. You can see the tools I use on a daily basis to build links and capture leads on my Marketing Tools page.
This is the path I have chosen. I do some ads as I can afford to and test as I go but building long term traffic by using great content and then having that content re-purposed around the web and linking back to your site is invaluable. I also build links from other social sites as well as any site related to my theme which is marketing online geared toward MLM.
You can build links also by posting replies to other blog posts that are related to your field. Be careful to post relevant replies and add value. Do not just post “hey great post”. This will hurt your reputation. Why would you worry about your reputation online? Because wouldn’t it be nice to have a large group of people that respect your opinions and advice enough that when you suggest a product or service to them they rush to buy it? Build your list and build a relationship with those on your list.
If you have a new site like this one you can boost your credibility and authority by writing some articles for site that already have great rankings like EzineArticles.com. Here is an example: If you search on Google for “MLM Insider Secrets” you will see an article I wrote for ezinearticles. It is listed as MLM Insider Secrets – Working to Get Out of Debt I wrote this article as a total newbie and it is on page one because I posted it on ezinearticles.com, they helped me rank and it is free to submit articles to them. Be sure that you write original content for them, they will reject spun content.
OK So now you are building traffic and how do you make money?
The best advice I can give is to put your readers first. What are they looking for? Help them find what they need and even if they do not join your primary opportunity you can have them pay you. This is called a funded proposal. You see I am looking for people to join my primary Network Marketing company but I also realize that most people that I reach will not join. Some will but most will not. So how do I make money?
One thing that all Network Marketer need is leads so I offer some solutions to help them get leads for their current business. At some point in the future they may decide to join my opportunity which is Empower Network but even if they never do, I can help them find what they need and earn a commission on it as well. I offer MLSP because it is a great leads system and they can try it out for just $2. Getting the point here? Do not try to force your deal on people, instead help them get what they need and they may just want to join you at some point.

Blog Money – Start Earning
So you have seen all the benefits of having a Blog and now you have one set up and are ready to make money from it. What is next?
For this article I will assume that you are already getting traffic. If not then please read my other posts on building traffic. Obviously you will need traffic to your Blog before you can sell anything from it.
The top ways to start earning some Blog Money:
- Content
- Affiliate Programs
- Advertisement
- Accept Donations
- Your own product (Ebook etc)
- Memberships
- Training & Consulting
- Google Adwords
So lets go into each one and decide what is best for you and your blog to start earning some blog money.
Content – Some Bloggers make money by writing for other Blogs and/or syndicating content but the reason I put this one first is that having quality content that helps your readers is the most important thing you can do to earn money blogging. If your readers like you and relate to you and most of all begin to value your opinion then you have built a quality Blog. Do not underestimate your readers and think you can just post a bunch of PLR articles that have been all over the web or hire a cheap writing service to churn out keyword stuffed paragraphs and people will like your Blog.
Affiliate Programs – One of the most popular and easiest ways to make some blog money is to sign up for affiliate programs and earn commissions from the sales of any pass through clicks from your blog. This can be done easily with services like ClickBank and Rapbank. Make sure that the items listed on your site are related and valuable to your readers. It is best to sell things that you have personally used and can vouch for. You can even do a review of the product in one of your Blog posts.
Advertisement – If you have a good amount of traffic you can sell advertisement through services like BuySellAds and others. These services will help you charge a flat fee or a per click fee for ads being shown on your site. Depending on the traffic of your site you could easily earn a few hundred dollars a month in blog money from these alone. Choose your ads and how many you run carefully since your advertiser may show ads that do not fit your content or even worse from competitors.
Accept Donations – many Blogs overlook this and I think it has a valuable place in earning Blog Money. You can accept donations through PayPal and others to help fund your blog. This works best with blogs that offer a lot of free services and help to their readers. Again if you offer solutions and help to your readers they will be more willing to help you out by donating to the cause.
Your own Product – For those that have been blogging and establishing themselves as an expert in their field this is probably the one that makes them the most money. Top online marketers all have their own video course or eBook that solves a problem and/or offers training on a particular subject. You can have an introductory product such as an eBook for as little as $.95 and more in depth training materials for as much as $97. This can be delivered electronically very easily and you never have to get involved after you set up the materials and the processing system. Ejunkie is a very popular and easy to use way to sell downloadable products online.
Memberships – Membership sites can generate a lot of monthly income if you an ongoing service or training that offers a great deal of new and fresh value each month. The challenge will be to keep your members very happy with the value of the service and you can even set up your own affiliate program to pay them for referrals.
Training & Consulting – This goes back to having your own product or service but goes a little further. Perhaps you would like to offer personal training or a set of training videos with you in them. Good trainers and marketers charge upwards of $500 or more for in depth training and consulting. You should have established yourself as a leader in your field and have great testimonials to back it up.
Google Adwords – This one has been around a long time now and many people are very happy with their Adwords results. Google will place ads on your site and rotate them and then share in the revenue that those ads produce. Keep in mind that you want to control what kind of ads are displayed as much as you can since the Blog is your online reputation.
Word of caution: Do not make your Blog just a place for ads and loose what makes it unique. Let your personality come through and give your readers valuable content and the money will come. Some Blog owners just throw up a lot of ads and hope someone clicks on them. Your readers are looking for value in the content first and then if they like and trust you they will value your opinions and ads.

More and more people are finding a good way to make money online by blogging. Whether you’re looking to get some extra bucks or considering blogging as a full time job, many people are flocking to the internet to get money by sharing their ideas. Blog money can be made through various ways, some of them are:
Advertisement:
It is the most common way people prefer to get paid. If the blog is well known, space in the blog can be used for advertisement. There are many services which allow a blogger to do so. Some are Google AdSense, Bing blog, Blog Ads, word press etc. Services like AdSense generate revenue either by per click or per impression basis. In per- click the advertisers pay the blogger when their ad is clicked and in per impression is when the blogger puts up an ad banner in their blog. There can be multiple banners in a web page.
Amazon’s affiliate program:
One of the most reliable ways to make blog money is by Amazon’s affiliate program. Where an Amazon ad or banner in the blog refers the customer to Amazon website and if the customer makes a purchase the blogger can make from 3% to 15% of the sales.
Selling other’s products:
This is one of the ways where blog money can be made. A lot of sellers pay good money to a blogger who pre-sells their product in their blogs.
Soliciting for a cause:
If blog content is written for some cause which benefits the human being in general the blogger can ask the reader for some monetary support. There are many ways by which a reader can make a donation, either by Pay-pal, Cheques etc.
Selling Advertisement:-
A blogger can write about a niche on a company or a product and contact the owner of the product for selling his services in the blog, but this way of earning blog money depends entirely on the number of readers one has for his blog. It solely depends on the traffic one has for his blog.
Providing a platform:
The blogger can provide a platform for writes, politicians, CEOs, or any kind of business owners can come and write in his blog so that they can communicate to their customers, stakeholders and so on through his blogs.
Reviews:
A blogger can also get blog money by blogging reviews on gadgets, books, movies, a product, service or a website.
RSS Advertising:
RSS stands for really simple syndication where the blogger allows some other sites to publish some of their content in his blogs. It can include project updates, news stories, headlines, news feeds, event listing, corporate information etc. RSS is an easy way to make blog money where more and more bloggers are using RSS.
Content:
A good content is a must to make blog money through blogging. The content should be interesting and engaging for the reader so that he comes back repeatedly. It should allow the reader to post their views and have a healthy discussion on every blog. The more readers one has in his blog the more traffic he gets. Traffic is the fuel for online income making.
